Ward office building constructed in Jhima at a cost of Rs 14.8 crore

Myagdi. A ward office building has been constructed in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-5 Jhin at a cost of Rs 14.8 million. The construction of the building, including a two-story assembly hall, which began in the fiscal year 2079/80, was completed in the current fiscal year.

The first floor of the five-room building was constructed through the Consumers’ Committee at a cost of Rs 50 million in the fiscal year 2079/80. The construction company, which signed a contract in Chaitra for Rs 71.66 million, had completed the work of the assembly hall with a capacity of 120 people, painting, electricity, water, and furniture.

Ward Chairman Man Bahadur Sherpunja said that the construction was completed by fencing it with a budget of Rs 2.7 million allocated in the current fiscal year. Four ropanis of land was purchased at a cost of Rs 5.9 million to construct the building. The ward office, which was operating in a rented house, has been shifted to a new building. Service delivery has become easier after the construction of the new building. Ward Chairperson Sherpunja said that the cost of rent has been saved.

The rural municipality, which has eight wards, had earlier constructed buildings for ward no. 6 in Pakhapani and ward no. 2 in Bhagwati. The office of ward no. 7 is being operated from the building of the former Chimkhola VDC. The offices of ward no. 1 Begkhola, ward no. 3 Piple, ward no. 4 Dagnam and ward no. 8 Kuinemangale are being operated from the then VDC, community school building.

The rural municipality, which has built a building with a meeting hall in Mauwaphant and operates its office, has signed a contract agreement for the construction of an administrative building, said Chairperson Bhava Bahadur Bhandari. A contract agreement has been signed with the construction company for Rs 15.86 million.

10 construction companies participated in the contract process. The rural municipality has stated that it will continue the construction of the building by allocating the budget next year as well.
