200 grams of brown sugar seized, police fire two rounds in the air to stop the fleeing driver

Baniyani. Police have seized the banned drug ‘brown sugar’ from Kankai Municipality in Jhapa.

Police have seized approximately 200 grams of brown sugar from a bag on a motorcycle with Indian registration number BR 37 T 9198 coming from Sharanamati towards Surunga on the Surunga-Jhapa road section in Kankai-5, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Jhapa.

At around 8:40 this morning, when a police team tried to stop the motorcyclist, the motorcyclist had fled, leaving behind the motorcycle and bag. Spokesperson Khadka said that two rounds of air fire were fired to stop the motorcyclist who fled upon seeing the police team.
