Kathmandu. National Independent Party (NISP) MP Ganesh Parajuli has questioned when will Gorkha Media Network Chairman Geetendra Babu (GB) Rai, who is involved in cooperative fraud, be arrested and brought to Nepal.
Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, MP Parajuli objected that Rai has not been arrested even after ten months of the government’s operation.
He alleges that the government has not arrested Rai for fear of implicating his party workers involved in government fraud. He also reminded MP Parajuli that the NISP has been raising cases of cooperative victims and that the government had suggested returning the victims’ money last year.
He said, “It has been ten months since your party has been in power. When will Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai be arrested and brought back to Nepal? People have been asking questions. As it turns out, out of the 16 billion, GB Rai brought only 7 billion and said he would pay. When the truth about who is responsible for the 9 billion is being revealed, people are making noise that GB Rai has not been arrested. Is that so? The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has not only raised its voice to solve the problems of cooperatives. It has even submitted a suggestion to the government last year to return the money of cooperative victims.”
MP Parajuli warned the government to bring the perpetrators involved in cooperative fraud to justice and return the savings of the victims.
