Okhaldhunga. Chemicals will be used to break the rocks of Haribole Bhir in the construction of the Molung Corridor road here. After not being able to break the rocks for a long time, chemicals have had to be used.
A three-kilometer new track needs to be constructed from Kause, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-6 to Valdip Aapswara, Ward No. 8, but the road track has not been opened due to the inability to break 200 meters of rocks on Haribole Bhir. Since the rock could not be cut even after using a breaker for a long time, preparations have been made to break the rock using chemicals.
Since a compressor machine has been brought, the rock will be drilled and chemicals will be used, informed Tej Bahadur Bhujel, proprietor of the construction company Mahalaxmi Bhujel JV Construction Services.
This is how chemicals are used
A hole of five to eight feet is made by drilling the rock with a compressor machine. Two and a half liters of chemical are placed in those holes and three and a half liters in eight-foot holes. The chemical is kept in the holes for 12 to 72 hours. The chemical melts and cracks the rock and the rock breaks.
The hole is made according to the depth to which the rock needs to be cracked. Blaster Ram Prasad Panthi informed that the chemical according to the measurement should be kept in the hole for at least 12 to a maximum of 72 hours.
This technology is being used for the first time in road construction in the district. Proprietor Bhujel said that blasting will be used if the rock cannot be broken even with chemicals. He said that chemicals are being used because there is no ‘blasting item’ in the road construction contract.
Mahalakshmi Bhujel JV Construction Service had signed an agreement to blacktop about four kilometers from Harkapur to Molung Dobhan and to cut two and a half kilometers from Molung Dobhan. The contract was signed on Magh 23, 2079 BS and was completed on Magh 23, 2079 BS, and the contract was signed at a cost of Rs 250 million, according to Deepak Kumar Das, engineer at the Road Division Office, Harkapur.
After the Haribole Bhir rock track is connected, the short-distance road connecting Okhaldhunga district headquarters to Ghurmi in Udayapur will be opened.
