Myagdi. Preparations have been made for the trial production of the 21.3 MW capacity Thulokhola Hydropower Project in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-8 Kuinemangle. The infrastructure of this project, built by Samyukta Urja Limited, has been completed and testing of the physical structure and machinery equipment installed in the power house has begun, informed the project’s ‘Plant Manager’ Binod Poudel.
According to him, all work on the dam, tunnel, power house and switchyard has been completed. He said that the necessary tests have been carried out by installing turbines and other machinery equipment in the power house. An eight-kilometer long transmission line is under construction to connect the electricity generated by the project to the central transmission. The project has stated that the work of pulling wires on the transmission line tower is in full swing with the aim of conducting test production on the coming Jestha 1st.
This project, which has a dam at the foot of the border of Kuinemangale and Chimkhola, will generate electricity by pumping water brought through a tunnel and penstock pipe into a power house built on the banks of the Raghuganga River in Chhari. This project has a 3,382-meter-long tunnel and a 634-meter penstock tunnel.
This project, which has 30 percent investment from non-resident Nepalis and Nepalis, has 70 percent investment from banks and financial institutions. The project, which is estimated to cost Rs 3.6 billion, has been invested in this project by Sunrise Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, and Siddhartha Bank under the leadership of Nepal Bank Limited, the project stated. While Sakura Power/Triple S JV was awarded the contract for the civil side of the project, the contract for the electromechanical side was awarded to Toyer Hydro. RSS
