Dharan. The Dharan Smart Bus Park under construction in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-8 has reached the final stage. The bus park, which is being built on about one bigha and seven katta, has so far achieved 98 percent physical and 96 percent financial progress.
According to Engineer Prakash Sharma of the Planning and Construction Branch of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City, the construction of the bus park was started with 50 percent of the federal government’s and 50 percent of the Dharan Sub-metropolitan City’s internal resources. Engineer Sharma said that ‘Bikoi Geetanjali JV Duhabi Sunsari’ has signed a contract agreement for Rs 231.5 million and has started construction.
So far, the construction of the bus park’s terminal building has been completed, while the work of extending the electricity and water lines has been completed. The external road, marble, falls, ceiling and other works of the bus park have been completed, while some road work is underway in front of the bus park, said Dharan Sub-metropolitan City Deputy Chief Aindra Bikram Begha. According to Engineer Sharma, the ground floor will have a waiting room that can accommodate about 300 passengers, a ticket counter, an ATM booth, CCTV and security room, public toilets, a first aid room, a minimart, and 22 autos for passengers to get on and off.
The first floor of the building has 18 rooms that can be used to keep shops for the income of the sub-metropolitan city. Most of the work of the bus park has been completed, while some finishing work is in full swing. Engineer Sharma said that the entire work will be completed and the building will be handed over by the coming Jestha.
Dharan had been facing problems for a long time due to the lack of a well-organized bus park. Keeping in mind the inconvenience and problems faced by passengers due to the narrow bus park, the Sub-Metropolitan City has started constructing a smart bus park with a state-of-the-art building.
