Nawalpur (Nawalparasi), April 21 The Narayanghat-Butwal road of the East-West Highway has been blocked due to continuous rain since last night. The road was blocked after vehicles started slipping on the road due to continuous rain in the Daunne section of this road, which is under road expansion, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Nepal, Information Officer of the District Police Office.
He also urged all passengers traveling on this road to travel through alternative roads as the road became slippery and completely blocked due to the rain that fell since last night. To expedite the road expansion work, the road has been completely closed in the Daunne section from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am daily. Information Officer Nepal informed that the queue of vehicles has been getting longer after the road, which has been closed since last night due to rain, has been closed.
Kanti Lokpath road blocked
Similarly, the Kantilokpath road from Hetauda to Kathmandu has been blocked due to incessant rain since last night. The Makawanpur District Police Office has informed that the road has been completely blocked after the Bagmati River diversion on the border of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 of Makawanpur and Bagmati Rural Municipality-2 of Lalitpur was washed away due to flooding in the Bagmati River due to rain.
According to the police, the movement of vehicles has been disrupted since 6:00 am today after the diversion was washed away. A police team has been deployed to the spot and efforts are underway to open the blocked road, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Shyam Aryal.
