Residents of Bardibas are happy after receiving the land title deed, saying, ‘Now it’s a pleasure to have a house on our own land’

Mahottari. The District Survey Office, Jaleshwor, has distributed land ownership certificates to 92 families of Bardibas Municipality-2 and 5. A program was organized here by Mayor Prahlad Kumar Chhetri, Head of the Survey Office Ram Binay Singh, and Ward Chairpersons of the concerned ward Shyamaraja Singh and Kaharman Syangwa.

68 families of Bardibas-5 and 24 families of Bardibas (2) were distributed the Lalpurja.

80-year-old Bhimmaya Ale of Bandelkhadi, Bardibas-2 is shocked. She said that she was happy to receive the land ownership certificate (Lalpurja) of the land where she owns her house. ‘My husband passed away while running around to get the document of this land. Today I got it,’ Ale said, ‘Now it is a relief that the house is on her own land. .’

Mr. Kabirman Ale says that he feels that his struggle has been rewarded after receiving the land title deed for the house he built 60 years ago.

70-year-old Buddhimaya Ale of Dhunge, Bardibas-5 is also happy to receive the land title deed for the house. Buddhimaya said that the hard work of her late husband Khadka Bahadur Ale has now been realized after 50 years. Out of the 92 people who will receive the land title deed, more than 80 are from the Magar community.

75-year-old Buddha Bahadur Thapa Magar of Bardibas-5 said that he too has become a landowner after receiving the land title deed for the house. He, who had been suffering from paralysis due to paralysis of his limbs and walking problems, said that he forgot all his physical pains when he received the land title deed.

He said that even though he is physically disabled, he felt like dancing with joy when he received the land title deed for the house. Magar said that he was happy to be given ownership of even a small amount when he had no land to show his pride.

Mayor Chhetri mentioned that the District Survey Office has distributed land ownership certificates to 92 families of Bardibas-2 and 5. The survey office has stated that land ownership certificates have been distributed after surveying the land of the households who have been occupying it for five decades.

‘We have surveyed the land in the presence of the concerned ward chairperson and prepared the certificates,’ said Singh, the head of the survey office. ‘We have been gradually distributing land ownership certificates of the households of the villages across the district, and this process will continue.’ According to him, all the land ownership certificates distributed are residential land.

Chief Singh informed that land ownership certificates are being distributed after surveying the houses and land in all the wards and settlements of the district on the basis of residence and land tenure. According to him, the certificates distributed range from three to 10 acres in area.
