Kanchanpur. Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the need to prepare the basis at the local level to strengthen the national economy.
Talking to media persons today at the Sobhtal complex, a tourist attraction in Belauri Municipality, he suggested that the local level should emphasize agriculture, forestry, health, education, employment, industry, etc. to strengthen the economy.
He said, ‘If agriculture is the basis and industries based on it can be established and moved forward, it will help the economy. Since the current era is the era of information technology, we should move forward by embracing the IT sector.’
Discussing that the construction of the Mid-Hill Highway, which was started after the establishment of the Republic, has reached the final stage, he said that the construction of the Postal Highway has progressed. ‘If nothing has happened since the establishment of the Republic, it is not right to say,’ he said, ‘A lot of development and corruption prevention work has been done, but what should have happened as expected by the people has not been done.’
