Biratnagar. All preparations for the ‘Investment Conference’ to be held by the Koshi Province Government have been completed. This information was given at a press conference organized by the Province Investment Authority here today.
The conference will be inaugurated at Birendra Hall in Biratnagar on Thursday and will conclude on Baisakh 19. The organizers expect this conference to be historic and fruitful for the prosperity and development of Koshi Province, which has abundant investment potential.
Executive Director of the Authority, Dr. Saroj Koirala, informed that the conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and that 71 projects have been socked and their total estimated cost is Rs 173.49 billion.
He said that projects in eight sectors including tourism, agriculture, industry, energy, infrastructure, IT services have been prepared for investment. It is said that investors from Nepal, India, China, Russia, America, South Korea and other Western countries will participate in it.
The investment conference will discuss investment opportunities and prospects in six different topics: agriculture, tourism, industrial production, marketing, infrastructure development, energy, and health services and medical education, and Executive Director Dr. Koirala said that everyone’s cooperation is expected to make it meaningful and result-oriented.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Rewatiraman Bhandari expressed the view that the success of the investment conference will increase employment in the province and develop national capital. He also expressed his commitment to amend the laws that were hindering the investment summit.
Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Magar expressed the view that the investment summit would help strengthen the province economically, create employment, and develop potential areas to attract tourists and increase production.
