Tanahun. On the occasion of the 136th International Workers’ Day, the All Nepal Trade Union Federation, a sister organization of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), has started ginger cultivation on fifty ropanis. It was initiated by party central member Asha Koirala.
Ginger cultivation has been started on 50 ropanis of land in Shyamgha, Byas Municipality-6 of the district. It is stated that the amount received from the sale of the produced ginger will be used for the livelihood of the families of members affiliated with the federation.
According to Suryabhakta Poudel, central member of the All Nepal Trade Federation and Gandaki Province Joint Secretary, ginger was planted using modern methods on Tuesday with the participation of 20 organization officials. In the first phase, 100 ginger seeds have been planted, and the target is to plant 500 ginger seeds this year.
Ginger farming has been given priority because it does not cause damage to monkeys and does not require much investment and effort, said Bir Bahadur Thapa, president of the Federation of Tanahun.
