Waling. The road from Jugle in Andhikhola Rural Municipality-5 in Syangja to Bange has been blacktopped. The road has been blacktopped from Jugle Bazaar to Bange in Phedikhola Rural Municipality-5 via Goganpani. Bishwanath Poudel, chairman of Andhikhola, said that three and a half kilometers of the Jugle-Goganpani section of the Jugle-Bange road section have been blacktopped.

‘The road has been blacktopped, covering the densely populated villages of Andhikhola and Phedikhola rural municipalities,’ he said. ‘In addition to its strategic importance, this road also connects the village and the city for geographical structure, farming, school, and market movement.’

Since the population density of the village is high, this road will play an important role in keeping the citizens in the village and providing easy access to the road throughout the year, he said. The road, whose ‘track’ was opened ten years ago, has been taken forward by Andhikhola as a multi-year plan under a supplementary grant from the federal government.

He said that the road, whose construction began in Magh 2079 BS and was supposed to be completed by Shrawan 2082 BS, has been completed ahead of schedule.

‘Under the multi-year plan, three kilometers of blacktop and about 600 meters of slope have been completed in the current fiscal year,’ he said. ‘With the completion of the three and a half kilometers of road blacktop and slope, the road within Andhikhola Rural Municipality has been completed. Now, the road towards Phedikhola Rural Municipality will begin blacktop next year. .’

The construction has been completed at a total cost of Rs 75.5 million, including Rs 30 million for the federal government’s complementary grant and Rs 45.5 million for the Andhikhola. With the construction of this road, it will also be easier to reach the tourist spot Panchase located on the border of Syangja, Kaski and Parbat.

Santosh Subedi, senior sub-engineer of the rural municipality, said that three kilometers and 500 meters in length have been blacktopped this time. The road is seven meters wide including the drain. He said that the work of painting the yellow border on the roadside and installing security fences on the right and left sides of the road has been completed. The road has been blacktopped to a width of 5.75 meters.

He said that the blacktop was done using the ‘premix carpeting’ technology. Vijay/Rangkhola Siddhababa JV had signed a contract agreement for the construction of the road.
