Kathmandu. In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, National Independent Party (NISP) MP Binita Kathayat has demanded to bring the budget for the upcoming fiscal year by prioritizing Karnali Province. MP Kathayat said that at least 15 percent of the total capital budget should be allocated to Karnali’s roads, transport, education, health and employment.
During the special session of the meeting, she said, ‘Karnali has been deprived of budget and resources. Why appoint Karnali citizens to state bodies? Karnali-friendly policies and laws are necessary.’ MP Mahendra Raya Yadav accused the government of not being serious about the demands of teachers.
He said, ‘The agitation has affected the education of students. The problem should be resolved through dialogue.’ He emphasized that there should be a ‘guarantee’ of employment and peace and security for those involved in the Kawadi business.
