‘Bill brought to bring good governance in civil aviation sector’: Tourism Minister Pandey

Kathmandu. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the bill has been brought to strengthen the legal system by establishing good governance in the country’s civil aviation sector.

Responding to questions raised during the theoretical debate on the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Bill, 2081 in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Pandey clarified that the bill has been brought with the objective of strengthening good governance in the aviation sector and managing skilled human resources in this sector.

Tourism Minister Pandey expressed confidence that the bill will play a role in making Nepal’s tourism sector dynamic and Nepali airspace dynamic.

‘The bill will provide two bodies with separate roles. The meaning of bringing it is to strengthen the system, promote good governance as well as manage skilled human resources. This will enhance efficiency and expertise in its own way,’ he said. .

Minister Pandey mentioned that there is a need to make Nepal’s international and domestic airports dynamic and to operate the Nepali sky dynamically, and that policies and laws need to be made for appropriate purposes, so the bill has been brought forward for an effective and implementation-oriented structure. He clarified that the bill will be arranged in a manner that does not reduce the current service facilities of the employees.

‘The work of amending has started since yesterday and many amendment proposals will be submitted within 72 hours from today,’ Minister Pandey said, ‘The ministry or the government is ready to have a meaningful dialogue on the amendments without any kind of inertia. Let us move forward with firm determination towards making the bill prosperous.’

He expressed confidence that discussions will be held with all stakeholders towards achieving positive results in the bill. Minister Pandey expressed confidence that the ministry will work firmly in controlling corruption.

He informed that an impartial investigation into the Saurya Airlines plane crash is underway and that the preliminary report has been received. After the final report is received, he expressed confidence that he will work firmly to punish anyone who has committed the issues pointed out in the report without leaving any wrongdoing behind.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on Tuesday, April 16 at 11 am.
