Wind and rain damage corn and mangoes in Sunsari, farmers worried

Inruwa. Last night’s wind and rain caused great damage to maize and mango farming in Sunsari. Neel Kamal Singh, head of the Agricultural Knowledge Center Inruwa Sunsari, informed that maize and mango farming in Sunsari’s headquarters Inruwa, Devaganj, Bhokraha, Barahakshetra, Harinagar and other areas have been damaged.

Maize farming is being done intensively and commercially in various places in the district. He informed that the wind and rain caused damage to the maize farming during the importation. During the importation of maize, the wind and rain caused great damage because the plants remained in the field, the flowers on the maize fell, and even the fruits fell. Similarly, he informed that there was damage to mangoes as well.

He said that the mangoes were damaged by the rain and lightning that came with the wind during the monsoon. Similarly, the Agricultural Knowledge Center Inruwa Sunsari has reported that there was damage to the vegetables including gourd, cucumber, bitter gourd, parwal, and bodi. Singh, the head of the Agricultural Knowledge Center Inruwa Sunsari, said that work is being done to collect data on the damage caused to the agricultural sector in Sunsari due to the rain accompanied by the wind last night.
