Kathmandu. Unity among the youth always helps in the development of the country, participants of a program have said. Youth from different walks of life presented their talents and expressed their views at the ‘Youth Celebration’ program organized by the Nepal Communist Party (UML) at Bhrikuti Mandap today on the occasion of Democracy Day.
Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol said that UML will utilize the power of youth to promote good deeds. She emphasized that a country should not be built by stunts and that it should be built by working. ‘A country should not be built by stunts, if you want to build a country, you have to work,’ she said.
Dr. Anand Singh said that different geography, culture, language, behavior and customs are the formula that unites Nepalis. He believed that keeping the country united would lead to positive practices in the areas of thought, intellect and inclusion.
‘Unity has bound us Nepalis, who have different geography, culture, language, conduct and traditions, to one rope,’ he said. ‘If unity is always maintained, it will not only build the country but also send a positive message to the international community. Unity should be not only in spirit but also in thought, intellect and inclusion.’
At the same program, Bishnu Pokharel, President of the Independent Students’ Union (SSU) of Prithvi Narayan Campus Pokhara, said that ensuring inclusion and equality is possible only in democracy. He stressed that the government should bring a special program to make Nepal self-reliant in the areas of meat, vegetables, flowers and others, and that the youth should also dare to plow and dig the barren land of Nepal.
Similarly, Shiva Kumari Tharu, Deputy Chief of Kapilvastu, Shivaraj Municipality, said that all youth should unite to protect the republic. ‘National and international forces that cannot see development are attacking the republic,’ she said. ‘Youth forces should move forward by eliminating such forces.’
