Emphasis should be placed on development as per the needs of the nation and the demands of the people: Minister Singh

Lalitpur. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has urged engineers to focus on development and construction as per the needs of the nation and the people’s demands and to work accordingly.

Addressing the second national conference of the Center for Democratic Engineers Association (CDEN) held in Lalitpur today, Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that while planning for infrastructure and development projects to be constructed, one should understand the needs of the nation and the people and strive for positive change.

He opined that implementing plans based on innovation and technology would yield significant returns.

‘The future of Nepalis cannot be assured until a system of governance based on democratic values and norms is established,’ he said in 2046. And we have brought the changes of 2062 and 2063. It is necessary for everyone to pay attention to political stability and economic prosperity for stability while protecting the rights obtained, and all political parties should move forward by improving their respective weaknesses, and let’s solve the legal problems through discussions. We should pay attention to sustainable development and responsible work while protecting the rights of the republic,’ he said.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka pointed out the need for everyone concerned to pay attention to the construction of quality infrastructure. For this, the problem should be solved by making timely laws, and the government is ready to amend the laws that are hindering the discussion based on the need, he said.

‘We work by assessing the needs of the country, the path to trade with India for 15,000 megawatts of electricity has been opened to achieve prosperity, 17,000 jobs will be created when Budhi Gandaki is launched, we are working by realizing this,’ he said.

Cyden Central President Subash Chandra Baral said that everyone should cooperate for sustainable development based on issues related to development and construction.

He expressed his belief that this program will provide positive energy to all those working in the field of sustainable development. He opined that political commitment is necessary for sustainable development. Baral said that this conference of SIDEN will help in solving the challenges in this sector.

SIDEN President and Engineer Laxman KC said that the conference was organized to discuss the vast potential in this sector and make suggestions to the government and parliament for policy arrangements to remove obstacles to sustainable development in line with the development of technology.

SIDEN General Secretary and Engineer Thaman Bahadur Khadka informed that the organization currently has 9,646 engineer members. According to him, of these, more than 6,700 are in Bagmati alone.
