Tanahun. The motorable bridge built on the Buldikhola river connecting Byas Municipality-1 and 2 to Karangkath-Bus Park in the district has been constructed before the agreement. Narayan Pandey, supervisor of Jwalamukhi Construction, informed that the bridge was ready four months ahead of the agreement made with the construction company to complete the construction by Bhadra 22.

The bridge is 25 meters long and 8.40 meters wide. Pandey said, ‘The construction work of the bridge has been completed, now the finishing work is underway, so vehicles are not allowed to ply in the formal area. However, motorcycles have started plying, and vehicles will also be allowed to ply within the next week. This was possible because the company worked with high priority.’

Bheshraj Tiwari, Planning Branch Officer of Byas Municipality, said that the construction company is preparing to hand over the project to the municipality soon. He said, ‘A positive message has been sent that if you work honestly, you can complete the work even before the contract period. Other construction entrepreneurs also need to learn something from this.’

There is a legal provision to reward construction entrepreneurs who complete quality construction work ahead of time, and the municipality has stated that the bridge construction company will be rewarded accordingly.

A budget of Rs. 61.1324 crore was allocated for the construction of the bridge under the Byas Municipality’s supplementary plan. The construction of the bridge will facilitate traffic and help protect about 100 houses along the riverbank, said Somnath Poudel, chairman of the community development organization Karangkath Bus Park.

Mayor Baikuntha Neupane expressed confidence that after the construction of the bridge, the bus park will be easier to manage vehicles and facilitate movement for locals.
