Myagdi. After 14 years of opening the road, the Pipalbot-Pakhu road of Mangala Rural Municipality-5 in Myagdi has been upgraded. Mangala Rural Municipality has launched a project to upgrade the Pipalbot-Pakhu section of the Pok-Pipalbot-Pakhu-Ghara-Sirkum-Tikawang road this year. The road connecting Pok, where the ward office of Mangala-5 is located, was opened in 2068 BS.

The rural municipality has allocated a budget of Rs. 32.7 million in the current fiscal year, and the construction company has taken the contract for this road upgrade at Rs. 21.7 million. Mangala-5 Ward Chairman Bhupendra Khatri said that the contract is being used to widen the road in the Pipalbot and Pakhu sections, improve the curves and grades, construct drains, walls and slope.

According to him, 70 percent of the work of constructing 945 cubic meters of concrete walls, 1,596 cubic meters of gabion walls, 200 meters of drains and 220 meters of road slope has been completed. The plan is expected to be completed by the upcoming Ashar month.

After the road upgrade, it is expected that the residents of the former Arman VDC will have ease in commuting, going to the ward office, as well as exporting agricultural produce, importing construction materials and daily necessities.

Currently, there is a situation where people have to travel dangerously on unpaved, rough and uneven roads. Earlier, the road upgrade was carried out in the Hadevir-Pipalbot section last year. This is a proud project of Mangala Rural Municipality.
