Revenue collection in Bagmati has decreased due to the decline in real estate sales.

Bagmati. The employees of the concerned office have said that revenue collection in Bagmati Province has not been as per the target. This is due to the decline in the purchase and sale of real estate and new vehicles.

Real estate registration (Malpot) and vehicle tax are considered the main sources of revenue collection for the provincial government. Out of the estimated revenue collection of Rs 29.55 billion 89 million from both the headings in the fiscal year 2081/82, only Rs 16.74 billion 20 million 86 thousand have been collected in nine months.

According to Indraraj Sanjyal, Information Officer at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Planning Development of the Bagmati Province Government, the target of collecting Rs 7.7 billion revenue from real estate registration in the fiscal year 2081/82 was Rs 3.39 billion 71 million 70 thousand have been collected in nine months.

Similarly, out of the target of collecting Rs 7.5 billion revenue from vehicle tax under vehicle inspection passes, ‘route permits’, and issuance and renewal of driver’s licenses, only Rs 4.93 billion 54 million 89 thousand have been collected in nine months. .

Of the estimated Rs. 8.6185 billion to be collected as Value Added Tax (VAT), only Rs. 5.6481 billion has been collected. Of the estimated Rs. 3.6936 billion to be collected as Excise Duty, only Rs. 1.924121 billion has been collected.
