Chitwan. Chitwan National Park has provided Rs 12.3 million 6,842 in relief to those affected by wildlife. The park has provided the amount as relief for 412 incidents within the buffer zone.
According to Abinash Thapa Magar, the park’s information officer, the amount was paid to the victims for incidents caused by wild animals within the buffer zone of the park at various times from last Shrawan to Chait mid-April.
According to him, 8 million rupees were paid to the families of eight people who died in wild animal attacks, 1.6 million rupees were paid to the treatment expenses of 27 injured people, and 1.4 million rupees were paid to 244 food crops damaged.
According to him, 95 livestock were damaged and 18 A relief amount of Rs 166,000 has been paid for damage to houses, Rs 83,000 for damage to 13 stored crops, and Rs 27,500 for damage to poultry.
Relief money is provided for damage caused by wild animals in the park and buffer zone. In case of death, there is a provision to give Rs 1 million to the family, while the amount given for injuries and other damages is given depending on the nature.
Information Officer Thapa Magar said, “Although the damage caused by wild animals entering human settlements cannot be compensated, the park has been distributing relief so that there is some relief.” To reduce such incidents due to conflicts between humans and wild animals, the park has been conducting not only relief programs but also various awareness-raising programs.
