Kathmandu. The Department of Drug Management has issued a directive to immediately withdraw two medicines that cure stomach problems from the market.
Both the medicines, ‘Pilpan 40 MG’ and ‘Acetop 40 MG’, were found to be of substandard quality during testing. The department has requested everyone not to recommend, sell, distribute and use medicines with that batch number.
The department has issued a notice stating that when the samples of medicines collected during market monitoring were tested by the National Drug Laboratory, the medicines of that batch number produced by the manufacturer were found to be of low quality.
The concerned industries and their representatives have been instructed through a notice to immediately withdraw the medicines of that batch from the market by stopping the sale and distribution in accordance with Section 14 of the Drug Act, 2035 and to submit the details to the department.
