Kanchanpur. A drinking water project has been constructed at a cost of Rs 68 million in Shuklaphanta Municipality-2 Dhakania. Five hundred and ten families of the ward have benefited after the construction of the project.
The drinking water project has been constructed at a cost of 50 percent each of the federal government and the municipality. According to Deepak Dhami, head of the municipality’s infrastructure development and management branch, the project includes boring drills, 225 cubic meter tanks, installation of taps in the houses of 510 families, and laying of 22 kilometers of pipelines.
An agreement was signed with ‘Uchchkoti Drilling and Construction Company’ to construct the said drinking water project in 2080 Baisakh. According to the agreement, the project was scheduled to be completed by 2081 Falgun. Chief Dhami informed that drinking water taps have been installed in the homes of residents of villages including Dhakania, Ranipur, and Laxmipur in the ward.
