Culvert being constructed over Mandre River in Tanahun at a cost of Rs 2.21 million

Tanahun. The construction of a culvert in Shuklagandaki Municipality has been completed ahead of schedule. The Kukhure Katahare culvert over the Mandre River connecting Shuklagandaki-8 and 10 was constructed two months ahead of schedule. The culvert was inaugurated on Saturday.

The culvert was constructed here from the municipality’s internal budget. An agreement was made on Mangsir 10 to complete the construction by Asar 15, 2082 BS.

Although the municipality allocated a budget of 2.5 million for the construction of the culvert here, a contract agreement was signed for 2.2 million 10 thousand 250 and the culvert was constructed, informed Rajendra Bhattarai, Ward Chairman of Shuklagandaki-10. The length of the culvert is 20 meters.

He expressed confidence that after the construction of the culvert, the movement of the people of Kukhure, Katahare, Lahere, Patiswarra, Shimle and Meenamkhani in Shuklagandaki-10 has become easier. He said, “It was very difficult to cross the river here during the rainy season when it swells.” That is why the municipality has made movement easier by building a culvert from its internal budget.’

Local Deep Bahadur Nepali said that the problem of students who were unable to cross the river to go to school due to the increasing floods every year and who had to travel at great risk even when they were sick has been solved.

He said, ‘Even when the river rises, you can easily go to school, hospitals and other places of work.’ Nepali mentioned that the solution was achieved after repeatedly informing ward and municipal employees about the problems faced by the locals due to the lack of a culvert.

Inaugurating the culvert, Shuklagandaki Municipality Mayor Krishna Raj Pandit said that since the local government is a government close to the people, it is their responsibility to solve every problem of the people. He said that there is.

He said, “As soon as we received information about the suffering of the people due to the lack of a culvert here, we allocated internal budget and proceeded with the work. The work was also completed before the deadline.” Deputy Mayor Khum Bahadur BK said that the municipality is implementing various schemes to connect the village with the city.
