Nawalparasi Transport Office collects more than 230 million in revenue in nine months

Nawalparasi. The Transport Management Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapur) has collected Rs 235.43 million in revenue in the nine months of the current fiscal year. Office Chief Suresh Jaiswal said that the revenue was collected under various headings including vehicle tax, driver’s license, and vehicle registration from Shrawan to mid-Chait of the current fiscal year.

‘During this period, Rs. 191,136,820 was collected for vehicle tax, Rs. 495,465 for driver’s license and vehicle registration, Rs. 235,8460 for transportation sector income revenue, and Rs. 875,600 for other administrative service fees,’ he said.

Office Chief Jaiswal said that the Transport Management Office had launched a special campaign in Chait to make tax collection systematic and effective. Under this campaign, special priority was given to bill book renewal, inspection passes, route permits, and driver’s license inspections. He informed that as a positive impact of the campaign, 48 million 25 thousand 625 revenue was collected in Chaitra alone.

‘The provincial government had launched a special plan to streamline the tax collection process with the aim of increasing revenue, and revenue collection also increased accordingly,’ he said. ‘We have been conducting various campaigns for tax collection by making transport services regular and transparent.’

Information Officer Tek Narayan Tiwari said that the Transport Office has made special arrangements to provide easy services to service recipients. He informed that additional staff has been deployed to manage the crowd of service recipients coming to pay taxes.

‘A separate counter has been arranged to ensure that the process of receiving services is fast,’ he said. ‘Arrangements have been made to easily provide the documents and other information required for paying taxes.’ In the last fiscal year 2080/81, the Transport Management Office collected Rs. 303.553 million, 953 thousand.
