Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that inhuman and heinous crimes committed during the conflict cannot be forgiven while finalizing the transitional justice.
Inaugurating the sixth national convention of the Nepal Ex-Servicemen and Police Organization today, Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (UML), said that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappearances will work to provide justice to the victims.
He clarified that there will be no further delay in the process of forming these commissions, and that since the country has been defeated and has moved to a democratic system, any kind of killing, violence, activities that disrupt religious harmony, anarchy, etc. will not be acceptable under any guise. .
‘Now we are in a federal democratic republican system. Here, we can compete among the people. When the UML formed a single government after winning the election and started unprecedented work for development and prosperity, we were displaced due to the instigation of reactionaries, who were frightened by it. Now we are working as a joint government,’ said Prime Minister Oli. ‘We have a history of nation-building and unity. We will hand over a prosperous and united Nepal to the new generation. We will not allow borders to shrink and national pride to be undermined. We will move forward by maintaining our civilized and cultured society.’
Prime Minister Oli said that national unity with social harmony is necessary in a diverse country, and emphasized that the trust of the former military and police organizations in the country and the party should be further strengthened as the UML is leading it.
President Oli also called on the UML to organize a youth conference on Democracy Day on April 11 and celebrate in favor of people’s rights and development.
