Kathmandu. The government has requested the protesting teachers to return to their workplaces. The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday urged them to postpone the protest programs and return to their workplaces as the student enrollment period, SEE answer book testing and grade 12 national exams are currently underway.

Minister for Education and Science Technology Bidya Bhattarai said that serious attention has been drawn to the ongoing protests called by the Nepal Teachers’ Federation and that the government has decided to call a session of the Federal Parliament on Baisakh 12 for the purpose of passing the School Education Bill under consideration in the Federal Parliament as soon as possible. Minister Bhattarai informed that the government is sensitive to addressing the demands raised by the Nepal Teachers’ Federation and is in continuous dialogue for that purpose.
