Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has appealed to the Supreme Court on Tuesday, saying that it is not satisfied with the verdict of the special court in the corruption case. The commission had filed a corruption case worth Rs 4337,500 against the then Provincial Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of the former Province No. 5 (Lumbini Province).
The case was filed on charges of corruption by not purchasing mini-tillers as mentioned in the agreement letter for the operation of the agricultural mechanization program towards the agricultural development program as per the approved annual program for the financial year 2075/76. The special court had ruled on that case on Chaitra 19, 2080.
Similarly, the commission had filed a case against the then provincial secretary and the supplier of goods, alleging corruption worth Rs 13.16 million. The special court had ruled on that case on Baisakh 11, 2081. The commission has appealed to the Supreme Court, saying that it is not satisfied with the verdict, said spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel.
