Triveni. 21,855 houses in the district are connected to central electricity transmission. Out of the six local levels, 18,000 houses are yet to be connected to central electricity transmission, informed Birman Raskoti, Chief of Rukum West Electricity Distribution Center.

The authority had collected data from 73 wards of the district a few months ago. The authority estimates that 2,500 houses will be added from across the district by the current fiscal year. So far, the central electricity transmission line has not reached Sanibheri Rural Municipality-5 and 7 and Athabishkot Municipality-3.

Those houses that have not received the central transmission line are using electricity from locally produced hydropower projects. Distribution Center Chief Raskoti said that the goal is to bring all the citizens of the district to the central electricity transmission line within two years.

He informed that after the completion of the re-electrification project and the work of the Bhampu Chaur substation in the district, the households not included in the central transmission line in the district will be included. Distribution Center Rukum West has stated that a budget of about Rs 160 million is required to expand the central transmission line throughout the district.
