Bhaktapur. The construction of a traditional-style temple of Balkumari Mata has begun in Basikwa Tole, Suryabinayak Municipality-2, Balkot. According to the master plan prepared for the construction of the temple, Sattal, Pati and other structures, a Mahayagya will be held to complete the reconstruction of religious heritage after the construction of the temple begins at a total cost of 35 million rupees.
At a press conference organized in the temple premises today, the coordinator of the Mahayagya organizing committee, E. Shriram Chapalchhen Shrestha, said that the Mahayagya is being organized to complete the incomplete work of the temple.
He informed that the family of local citizen late Chandralal Chapalchhen Shrestha constructed a phalcha, well, including a stone stream, in 2072 BS, after the groom and Peepal were buried and disappeared. .
The Shiva temple at the said location has been walled and has eight domes with idols of Kumar, Ganesh, Bhimsen, Dakshinkali, Durga, Saraswati, Vishnu and Vishwakarma installed and worshipped. He informed that in accordance with the plan to establish the Balkumari Temple, the worshipped deity of Newar, the Balkumari Temple has been established and the Balkumari Rath Yatra has been performed every year on the 1st of Baisakh during the Bisket Jatra.
The municipality has allocated Rs. 775,000 for the reconstruction of the Balkumari Temple for the first time, and Rs. 1.5 million from the Bagmati Province government, and the construction of a two-storey Balkumari Stall is underway, informed Sanjajak Shrestha.
The municipality has allocated Rs. 1.4 million in the fiscal year 2071/80, Rs. 2 million in the fiscal year 2080/81, and Rs. 2.5 million in the fiscal year 2081/82, and the Bagmati Province government has allocated an additional Rs. 1.2 million for the construction of the religious structure. .
The project mentions that a total cost of Rs. 35.8 million will be required to complete the construction of various structures, including the temple of Bal Kumari Mata, including the purchase of artistic wood, and Rs. 16.6 million for the construction of various religious structures.
He said that the Mahayagya Organizing Main Ceremony Committee, formed under the coordination of E. Shrestha, with 151 members, is going to organize the Shrimad Bhagwat Sapta Gyan Mahayagya from Friday, Baisakh 19 to Baisakh 26.
He said that the target is to collect a total of Rs. 25 million from the Mahayagya, and after the completion of the Mahayagya, all the structures of the temple will be constructed within the next one year from the collected amount.
