Banke. With the arrival of the New Year, the number of domestic tourists has increased in homestays in Banke.
The trend of visiting tourist destinations and having fun with family and friends has led to an increase in the number of domestic tourists at Gavar Community Homestay in Baijanath Rural Municipality of Banke, Khadkawar in Kohalpur, and Nayagaun Homestay in Rapti Sonari.
According to Krishna Chaudhary, Chairman of Gavar Mini Valley Community Homestay Management Committee, more than three thousand domestic tourists have come to the homestay since the beginning of Chaitra. Gavar Homestay is also becoming a destination for natural beauty and wildlife study and observation. Visitors are also offered a jungle safari in Banke National Park by car and elephant to observe wildlife.
Lal Bahadur Rana, Chairman of the Homestay Management Committee, said that the number of domestic tourists has also increased at Khadkawar Homestay in Kohalpur Municipality-13, which is connected to Banke National Park. He mentioned that although it is deserted at other times, the number of visitors from Nepalgunj and other districts is increasing on the occasion of the New Year.
He said that guests coming to stay are taken on an elephant safari in coordination with the park to observe wildlife. After observing wildlife in the afternoon, tourists are shown a cultural dance in the evening. The homestay, which was started for the preservation of culture and sustainable livelihood of the locals, is now achieving commercial success.
