Myagdi. The decoration project has been supported by the offerings made by devotees at Galeshwor Temple, the district’s main religious tourist attraction. The Galeshwor Shivalaya Area Development Fund has provided Rs. 600,000 from the offerings collected at the temple for the Galeshwor Bazaar beautification project run by Beni Municipality.
In the current fiscal year, Beni Municipality has allocated a budget of Rs. 2 million for the Galeshwor Bazaar beautification project, while the Galeshwor Shivalaya Area Development Fund has provided Rs. 600,000, while the Pulah Pulatsya Annakshetra and Radhakrishna Temple have provided Rs. 200,000 each, informed Ward Chairman Chakra KC of Beni-9.
The construction company of Beni has taken the contract for the construction of the project, which is estimated to cost Rs. 300,000. The project work has been started to attract tourists and devotees by making the roads and footpaths within Galeshwor Bazaar, which is considered the gateway to Muktinath, a common pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists, original, organized and beautiful.
Through the project, the entrance from Galeshwor Bus Park, a pedestrian path through the Galeshwor Temple premises to the banks of the Rahughat River, slate stones will be laid on the road and flower pots will be planted on the banks, Ward Chairman KC said. Ward Chairman KC said that after the stones are laid on the road inside Galeshwor Bazaar, public transport will be allowed to move only through the Kaligandaki Corridor road outside the market.
The structure has been designed so that vehicles supplying construction materials and consumables can operate inside the market without affecting the stones laid on the ground. Fund Chairman Madhav Prasad Regmi said that the beautification plan was supported by the offerings made by devotees at the Galeshwor Temple.
According to him, from Shrawan to mid-Falgun of the current fiscal year, Rs 6.6 million 2,993 was earned from offerings and Rs 4.0 million 9,452 was spent, resulting in a saving of Rs 2.5 million 93,541. Last year, the fund mobilized the funds collected through donations to build a meeting hall at the senior citizen ashram at a cost of Rs. 1.2 million.
It is believed that worshipping and visiting the Galeshwar temple, located on a single giant rock with an area of nine ropanis on the banks of the Kaligandaki River, will fulfill your wishes and bring you merit. In Hindu scriptures, it is mentioned that the name Galeshwar was given to this temple after the throat of Sati Devi fell. A special fair will be held on the Monday of Shrawan, Balachartudashi and Shivaratri festivals.
