Further development and management of the vegetation sector is necessary: Forest Minister Thakuri

Kathmandu. Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri has stressed the need to study and research Nepal’s flora and fauna and further organize it.

Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Department of Botany and the 26th Botany Day, he stressed the need to protect it, saying that Nepal has plants that are not found anywhere else in the world.

He said that Nepal has created its own identity with its various species, air, natural resources, and landforms. He asserted that if the flora in Nepal can be studied and researched and further organized and developed, it will prove to be important for the prosperity of the country. Minister Thakuri said that there are more than 300 flora resources in Nepal and it is necessary to protect them.
