Gulmi. The storm that hit Gulmi last night has caused material damage worth more than 3.6 million. The storm that hit on Wednesday night has blown off the roofs of houses, schools and hotels in various places in the district, as well as caused a total of 3.645 million in physical structures, according to the District Police Office.
The storm has damaged three houses in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, 11 in Malika Rural Municipality, nine in Dhurkot Rural Municipality, one in Ruru Rural Municipality and two in Resunga Municipality. The Supari Hotel run by Arun Gaire in Barbot, Dhurkot Rural Municipality-4, has suffered damage worth 500,000. The police said that the roof of the hotel was blown off and other damage was caused.
The storm that blew last night blew off the roof of the computer lab, toilet and library building of Arkhabang Secondary School in Malika Rural Municipality-4.
Similarly, the roof of the Arkhabang Agriculture and Livestock Cooperative in Arkhabang was also blown off, informed Rajan Bhujel, Chief of the District Police Office. According to him, the school has suffered damage worth Rs 150,000 and the cooperative Rs 100,000.
Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam said that this is the initial data and that the municipality has been requested to send more details of the damage. Stating that the municipality has been requested for relief, he informed that there are no immediate relief programs from the administration.
