Kathmandu. Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket and Departmental Store Private Limited, established in 1992, has done a turnover of over Rs 16 billion in the first six months of the financial year 2025/026. According to Bhat-Bhateni’s financial statements, the company did a turnover of Rs 16.793 billion in the first six months.
The company had a turnover of Rs 30.62 billion in 2024. This is 2.77 percent more than in 2023. The company’s turnover in 2023 was Rs 29.794 billion.
Similarly, the company had a turnover of Rs 26 billion in 2022 and Rs 19.946 billion in 2021. According to the public financial statement, the company’s business is continuously growing.
Chairman Min Bahadur Gurung’s Bhatbhateni Supermarket is the largest store in Nepal. This supermarket, which started as a small grocery store with an investment of Rs 35,000, has reached 27 outlets across the country. 70 percent of the company’s income comes from Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. The company plans to open an additional outlet at Lakeside in Pokhara. Similarly, it is studying to open branches in various parts of the country.
These stores sell daily necessities, groceries, household goods, electronics, clothing and many other products under one roof. Businessman Gurung owns 60 percent of the company and his wife Sabitri Ghale Gurung owns 40 percent. The company’s total debt is Rs 17.24 billion, 60 million. Of which, long-term debt is 9.14 billion and short-term debt is 8.10 billion.
