The blacktopping of the road in the Ghartichhap section of Kavre has begun since Tuesday as part of the construction of the ‘Janmukti Marg’. The work of paving the slope of Ghartichhap has begun on the Devitar-Ghartichhap-Solabhanjyang section of the main road network ‘Janamukti Marg’ connecting remote mountainous areas to the provincial capital.

‘We have started the blacktop work from Ghartichhap on Tuesday,’ he said. ‘The goal is to complete the slope work of about four kilometers by mid-Ashar.’ He said that the work on the Devitar-Ghartichhap-Gokule road section, which is about nine kilometers long, has made 65 percent physical progress and 52 percent financial progress so far.

Santoshi Dharma S JV has received a contract for the road section at a cost of Rs. 397.455 million and is moving forward with the construction work, and there is an agreement to complete it by the end of Chaitra 2082. According to Mahabharat Rural Municipality Chairman Kanchhalal Jimba, the slope and blacktop work is gaining momentum on the road section from Bankhukhola in Devitar, Ward No. 6, to Ghartichhap in Ward No. 8.

He said that the construction work, which is being divided into sections, is gaining good momentum and the work is also progressing satisfactorily. According to him, work is progressing on one section from Devitar to Sola Bhanjyang, another section from Sola Bhanjyang to Gokule-Chotesahan, another section from Chotesahan-Sikredobhan-Bhorleni, and another section from Tinkhutte-Budhakhani-Rajbas.

The foundation stone of the road section connecting Mahabharat in Dandapari and Jhurjhure in Makawanpur via Khanikhola Rural Municipality was jointly laid on 2080 BS Poush 6 at Sola Bhanjyang in Ghartichhap of Mahabharat in Devitar-Ghartichhap-Gokule-Chotesahan-Taldhunga section by the then Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development of the province, Yubaraj Dulal, and member of the Provincial Assembly, Ratna Prasad Dhakal. .

According to Chairman Zimba, about three kilometers of slope work is being completed in the 17 kilometers under the Tinkhutte-Budhakhani-Rajbas section and only blacktop work remains. The work on the Tinkhutte-Ghyabring-Devitar section, which was first contracted about five years ago, has not yet been completed.

The municipality has stated that the municipality is drawing the attention of the provincial government to complete the work on time after repeated extensions. Recently, the contract for the section from BP Highway to Pinthali-Rajbas has been called.

After the completion of all those sections, the road section of BP Highway from Pinthali via Mahabharat-Khanikhola to Jhurjhure Madan Bhandari Lokmarg in Makwanpur will facilitate travel from the district headquarters Dhulikhel to the provincial capital Hetauda, and the highway is expected to provide convenience to the citizens of the hilly areas of the district.

The citizens of this place are happy that wide roads have been constructed and blacktopped even in remote villages.
