Kathmandu. The government has invited the protesting teachers for talks. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has summoned the Nepal Teachers Federation to the ministry for talks on Wednesday.
Issuing a press release today, the ministry’s spokesperson and joint secretary, Shiva Kumar Sapkota, called on the federation to hold talks and dialogue in a manner that would represent all the agitating teachers. The time for the talks will be decided according to mutual consultation, the press release states.
The teachers’ protest is continuing at the call of the Nepal Teachers Federation, demanding that the Bill to amend and unify the law related to school education, 2080, be passed as soon as possible.
The ministry had earlier called for discussions and consultations with the agitating teachers on Chaitra 21 and 22 to build a common understanding. But that discussion and consultation could not take place.
