Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi has accused Maoist cadres of setting fire to and vandalizing public and private property on Chaitra 15.

He made this allegation while addressing a public meeting organized by the RPP in Balkhu on Tuesday. He alleges that RPP leaders Dhawal Shamsher Rana, Rabindra Mishra and Pashupati Khadka were arrested on false charges by sending cadres to vandalize the property.

He has warned that the day will come when the people will surround the houses of the RPP leaders if the arrested RPP leaders and cadres are not released. He also questioned the republican leaders, saying where will the people go after surrounding their homes?

Chief Whip Shahi said, “It has been proven now. It has been confirmed today that the Maoists who vandalized government property and set fire to herbs are cadres. Using such insinuations, our friends have been arrested on false charges. Party Vice President Rabindra Mishra and Honorable MP Dhaval Shamsher Rana, Pashupati Khadka and other nationalist friends have been arrested. I would like to appeal and request the government not to try to arrest them on false charges. If an attempt is made to arrest them, thousands of people will surround your homes tomorrow. Where will you run away on that day? These false cases should be withdrawn immediately.’

He also accused the leaders in power of repeatedly selling out the industry.
