Doti. One person has died in a mini truck accident in Doti. Police have said that a mini truck accident occurred in Deuthan, Badikedar Rural Municipality-3, at around 12:30 pm today. The mini truck, bearing the registration number BAP 03001 Kha 253, was collecting rotten wood from the Janajagaran Community Forest and taking it to a ghat in the nearby Selaneko River to be deposited.
According to Binod Sharma, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Doti, 27-year-old Santosh Gurung of Dewal, Badikedar Rural Municipality-3, died when the vehicle overturned on the roadside. Gurung died on the spot after being crushed by the wood in his truck, police said, while Lok Bahadur Palli Magar, the chairman of the community forest, who was also in the truck, was injured.
The injured are undergoing treatment at the local health post, Mulichaur, and their condition is moderate, said Prakash Lama, ward member of Badikedar Rural Municipality-3. Police said they are searching for the truck driver, 29-year-old Gopal Badela of Barchai, Badikedar Rural Municipality-2.
