Kathmandu. Koteshwor Bhatbhateni has suffered a loss of Rs 80,033,192 due to the looting carried out by royalists on Chaitra 15. The company has prepared and made public the details of the building damage and theft of materials.
According to the company’s details, liquor, vegetables, clothes, fruits, and household items worth Rs 6,488,337 were stolen. Similarly, the building worth Rs 1,185,855 was damaged. Freezers and show cases worth Rs 2,65,000 were vandalized. Similarly, cash worth Rs 94,000 was stolen.
Videos of the thefts at Bhatbhateni are going viral on social media. Videos and photos of the robbers fleeing with rags and bottles of alcohol are going viral.
On Chaitra 15, the royalists had sought permission from the government to hold a peaceful demonstration in Tinkune, Kathmandu. But the royalists, in their agitation, attacked private sector businesses, houses, government offices, party offices, herbal factories, and even media houses. Two people lost their lives in the violence that day. Nine members of the group that looted in Bhatbhateni have been arrested.
