Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that no one has the power to take away the rights that the Nepali people have fought for. Addressing the National Volunteer Gathering organized by the National Youth Association Nepal here today, Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chairman of the CPN (UML), said that if people do not estimate how much power the Youth Association has, it should show its competence by confronting any regressive force if it comes to the country and the people.

‘No one has the power to take away the rights that we have fought for. The youth can tell this better. If someone tries to put the country in trouble, the Youth Association will pounce like a tiger,’ said Prime Minister Oli. ‘This volunteer activity is a good start. Mobilize this power in a systematic and dignified manner. Like the previous Youth Force. Let it be an unarmed permanent team, if any reactionary force comes to confront us or if the anti-development forces obstruct our work, they should give a strong response.’

Prime Minister Oli commented that some people were crying and beating their chests when the government removed an employee, and clarified that the Prime Minister does not have to keep answering about this. ‘The Prime Minister has already given his answer. He removed one, appointed another, and that is it. That is the answer. It is not our job to appoint whatever they say to help them.’

Prime Minister Oli expressed concern that the opposition parties have started obstructing the House to prevent it from passing the ordinances by Chaitra 18. Urging the opposition, the Prime Minister said, ‘You should not be so cheap, so light and so impulsive. Don’t speak carelessly about the Prime Minister’s issue. After all, you should take a cold shower. We don’t get drunk. We don’t panic. We move forward patiently.’ At the program, UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Chief of the People’s Organization Coordination Mechanism Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Politburo member Mahesh Basnet, Association President Kshitij Thebela, and others expressed their views on the need for a national volunteer campaign.
