Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is very difficult for any party to get a majority according to the constitution. Addressing a program organized at the party’s central office, Sanepa, on Wednesday, President Deuba said this.

He said that since it is difficult for any party to get a majority according to the constitution, there is a situation where it is necessary to join forces with another party. Stating that it is not the party’s fault but the constitution itself, he said that it is necessary for the Congress to understand this and try to get a majority. He said that the current constitution is very good.

He said that since it is a constitution based on inclusiveness and proportionality, it should be preserved.

President Deuba said, “The current constitution is a very good constitution. It is inclusive and proportional. According to this constitution, it is very difficult for any party to get a majority. Therefore, there is a need to get along with any party. Therefore, our party has succeeded in becoming the largest party despite its hard work. But it has not been able to get a majority. The constitution itself is like this rather than the party’s fault. There are many reasons. We should try to understand this and bring about a majority.’

President Deuba said that it is mandatory for a woman to be one of the chiefs or deputy chiefs in rural municipalities of Nepal, and mentioned that women are getting the opportunity to directly participate in state administration. He said that women should work with responsibility, not just for rights.
