Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Dr. Sunil Sharma has registered a motion of urgent public importance in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday. Registering an urgent public interest notice, MP Dr. Sharma said that it is necessary to include all citizens in the health insurance sector.
He said that citizens have lost their lives prematurely due to common diseases due to weak economic conditions and lack of public awareness, and said that the health insurance program should be expanded.
‘In Nepal, especially in rural areas, marginalized groups, backward and disadvantaged communities due to weak economic conditions and lack of public awareness, there is a lack of health care expenses even for common and serious diseases, and access to health services is challenging. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a comprehensive health insurance scheme for all citizens of Nepal and include everyone in access to fast, accessible and easy health services,’ his urgent public importance proposal states. .
Supporting the proposal, independent MP Amresh Kumar Singh said that the common citizen has not been able to get the right to health and education guaranteed by the constitution. He insisted that there should be no appointment of secretaries to the Ministry of Health and related ministries without a commission. He alleged that the decision to make the secretary of which ministry is made by middlemen, not by the government.
Santosh Pariyar, Chief Whip of the National Independent Party, said that the relationship between the people and the state will not be good unless the state provides the basic facilities guaranteed by the constitution to the people. He said that the government should be responsible for connecting the state and the people, adding that it would be useless to talk about prosperity if the government does not spend enough on health and education.
He said that it is necessary to increase investment to improve the health sector. He also urged to implement urgent public information.
