Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Bimalendra Nidhi has said that political parties are ready to take any step to protect the federal democratic republic. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, he said this. He said that the Nepali people have endured various systems of monarchy since Prithvi Narayan Shah.
He said that the kings have ruled by taking away the rights of the Nepali people. He said that the republic was established due to various side effects of the monarchy. He claimed that the most advanced political system in the world is the federal republic and insisted that the monarchy will not be restored, saying that the people do not want any system of monarchy.
He said, “The system we have brought was not donated by anyone, we have brought the system of federalism and republic in Nepal to exercise the rights of the sovereign people. We have seen various types of monarchies in Nepal. We have also seen the monarchy model of Prithvi Narayan Shah, we have also seen the model of King Tribhuvan. We have also seen the monarchy model of the child Gyanendra. Then we have also seen the model of Birendra and Gyanendra who repeatedly took away their rights. We have brought a republic, an advanced system of politics. All political parties are committed to a federal democratic republic and under no circumstances will the monarchy return to Nepal, that is not the case. The people do not want a monarchy of any model. We are ready to do anything for this.’
MP Nidhi emphasized the need to amend the constitution and empower the provinces. He said that a federal law should be formulated immediately to implement federalism effectively.
