Kathmandu. National Independent Party MP Sumana Shrestha has commented on the political parties’ riots on campuses in the name of the Independent Students’ Union. Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, she made this comment.
She said that students were being misused to strengthen their faction and gain positions. She also drew the Prime Minister’s attention to the fact that students were not able to study when the campuses were locked for a month. She also drew the government’s attention to ensuring the right of students to study.
She said, ‘Parties are rioting on campuses in the name of the Independent Students’ Union. What is happening? Students are being misused to become general secretaries and presidents to protect their factions and sub-factions, Mr. Speaker. Schools have been locked. Students have not been able to study for a month. I draw the attention of the Prime Minister to this. The right of students to study should be ensured. ’
She also accused the Education Minister of trying to evade the issue of organizing secondary education examinations in Madhesh Province by pointing the finger at the Home Minister and the Home Minister at the Education Minister.
