Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Center) MP Madhav Sapkota has demanded the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the illegal foreign exchange worth 250 million rupees seized from Kathmandu.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, he made this demand. He also expressed concern over the rise in economic crimes in the country. He said that such crimes would not be possible without high-level involvement and demanded a necessary investigation. He drew the attention of the government to investigate the incident and bring whoever was involved to justice.
He said, “Only porters and drivers are arrested in such incidents. For some time, big news becomes news and after a certain time, it goes back to normal.” On behalf of our party, I demand that a special investigation committee be formed to investigate this incident and that even the high-level leaders and employees involved in this incident be brought to justice.’
Kathmandu police had arrested two people with about 250 million rupees in cash. The two people arrested along with US dollars and euros were made public on Tuesday.
