India hands over 24 kilograms of silver for the temple of Seto Machhindranath

Kathmandu. The Indian government has handed over 24 kilograms of silver for the Seto Machhindranath temple in Janbahal, Kathmandu.

On Wednesday morning, the Indian Embassy in Nepal handed over 24 kilograms of silver on behalf of India. The Seto Machhindranath temple, which was damaged by the earthquake in 2072 BS, is being rebuilt with the assistance of the Indian government with the approval of the Department of Archaeology.

Reconstruction of the temple Reconstruction work has been underway since Magh 29, 2077 BS. It is said that the physical progress of the temple so far is 75 percent and the financial progress is 42.18 percent. Since the cost estimate at that time did not include the work of installing the silver seat, 204 kilograms of silver was donated to install the silver seat.

The Government of India had approved an amount of Rs. 39 lakh 10 thousand for the silver. Now, it is said that the process of engraving the base of the silver seat and installing it in the temple will be taken forward.
