Kathmandu. Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa has assumed office this afternoon. Upon assuming office, he has made it clear that the peace and security of the country is his top priority. As per the decision of the Council of Ministers on Monday, he was today decorated with the rank insignia by Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi.
On that occasion, Home Secretary Duwadi heartily congratulated Inspector General of Police Thapa on attaining the prestigious position of the head of a glorious organization and wished him success in his successful tenure. Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa, Additional Inspector General of Police, high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Deputy Inspector General of Police and media persons were present on the occasion.
After assuming office, Inspector General Thapa said that his objective is to enhance the Nepal Police as well as maintain peace, security and order in the country, expressing confidence that everyone in the organization will contribute to realizing it. Before assuming office, he paid tribute to the immortal police by laying a wreath at the Amar Police Memorial located at the Nepal Police Headquarters premises and planted a neem sapling in the office premises.
