Darchula. As the number of viral fever patients in the village has increased, health workers in Darchula have reached the village and started treatment. Health workers from Malikarjun and Duhu rural municipalities have reached the village and started treatment and counseling services.
As the viral fever spread in Malikarjun rural municipality-5, Maltadi, health workers have reached the village and started treatment. A team led by Dr. Nirajan Bohara of Pasti Basic Hospital has treated the patients in the Dalit-dominated Maltadi settlement. They have provided counseling services and health check-ups to the patients.
After the change in the weather, the number of patients has increased throughout the village, treatment has been started in the village, informed Ram Singh Khatri, Public Health Inspector of Pasti Basic Hospital. “We went to the settlement for treatment after receiving news of the viral outbreak in the village for three-four days,” he said. “One hundred and twenty-two people from across the village have been tested for the health of the people.”
He said that the patient had symptoms including fever, cough, and pain in the hands and feet. The patient was treated and distributed medicine in the village. Although there is a Dandakot health post in the ward, treatment was provided by the municipality level with specialists.
Similarly, Duhu Rural Municipality-2 is going to provide services at the settlement level, saying that viral fever has been spreading in the village for a week. The Hikila Health Post will reach all the settlements from Chaitra 7 to Chaitra 12 and provide check-ups, consultation services, treatment and distribution of medicines, informed the Chief Public Health Inspector of the Health Post, Mohan Singh Dhami.
Currently, the pressure of patients with viral fever, cold, asthma, pneumonia, diarrhea, headache and respiratory problems has increased in various areas of the district, even at the District Hospital, said Dr. Sanjeev Shrestha. He said, ‘The number of patients with viral fever has increased every day. Due to lack of space, it has become a problem to get treatment.’
More than two dozen viral fever patients come to the District Hospital, Darchula, for treatment every day. The health department of the relevant local level has stated that children and the elderly are the most affected by this.
Health workers have urged children to take special precautions and suggested drinking enough water, staying away from crowds, wearing masks, and paying attention to hygiene to avoid health problems.
