Ministry of Urban Development’s financial progress in the current fiscal year is 17.93 percent, construction work of 124 programs completed

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Urban Development has stated that out of the 1,623 programs for which bids were called under the ministry in the current fiscal year, 1,098 programs have been awarded contracts and the construction work of 124 programs has been completed.

This was informed at a press conference organized to publicize the progress report of the current fiscal year of the ministry on Tuesday. According to the spokesperson and joint secretary of the ministry, Narayan Mainali, the financial progress of the Ministry of Urban Development said that the total budget for the current fiscal year 2081/082 is 91.55 billion 23 million, of which 68.35 billion 83 million 39 thousand has been allocated for the union.

Of which 4.82 billion 38 million 23 thousand has been allocated for the current and 63.23 billion 45 million 16 thousand for the capital. He said that so far, current expenditure has been 25.23 percent, while capital expenditure has been 17.43 percent. He said that a total of 12.24 billion 387 thousand (17.93 percent) has been spent so far.

Out of 3,716 new projects in the current fiscal year, bids have been invited for 1,623 programs, and out of 1,623 programs for which bids have been invited, contracts have been signed for 1,098 programs, and construction work has been completed for 124 programs.

Out of the remaining 2,093 programs for which bids have not been invited, 288 programs are programs proposed for multi-year approval, while 80 programs are programs proposed for revision.

Out of 80 programs proposed for revision The ministry has stated that 44 have been revised and the remaining are in the process of being revised. Out of 1,459 old and multi-year approved programs, a total of 280 programs have been completed in the current fiscal year.

He said, ‘In the financial progress of the Ministry of Urban Development, the total budget for the current fiscal year 2081/082 is 91.55 billion 23 million, of which 68.35 billion 83 million 39 thousand has been allocated for the union. He said that out of the target of constructing 330 suspension bridges, 162 have been completed so far. With the aim of providing easy public service delivery from the local level, the target of constructing 68 local level administrative buildings has been completed so far and public services have been resumed by completing the construction of 36 local level administrative buildings.

He said that 129 municipal administrative buildings are under construction. He said that the aim is to irrigate 1,723 hectares of irrigated area in this fiscal year, and 678 hectares of area has been provided with irrigation facilities under the implementation of the small irrigation program.

Under the Bagmati Improvement Project, 200 meters of river, embankment, 350 meters of road blacktop and 150 meters of main sewer have been constructed in this fiscal year. He said that the agreement for the construction of parapet and flood light installation work in Kirtipur Cricket Ground as per international standards was signed in 2081 Falgun and the construction work is progressing to complete the work by 24 Baisakh 2082.

So far, 80 percent of the construction work of the second phase of the Minister’s Residence in Bhaisepati has been completed and the remaining construction work is underway, and the construction work for the Chandi Dal Battalion has been completed and is in the process of being handed over and has been put into use, according to the ministry.
